Wendy’s big win

THE Bega ladies golf champion for 2008 is Wendy Hergenhan, after she won the Georgie’s Fine Jewellery Singles Championships last weekend.

Hergenhan led the event for four days and took it out with a scratch score of 313.

The division one scratch winner was Debbie Roberts (356) and Veronica Coman was the nett winner (nett 299).

Division two had constant changes in leaders over the four day and was a much close tussle, with Narelle Harrison (403) finishing as scratch winner on count-back from Maree Hergenhan.

Hergenhan didn’t lose everything because she became the nett winner of the division (nett 295).

Division three scratch winner Margaret Atkins (424) led throughout the championships.

Robyn Kilkelly (nett 312) edged out Rhonda Van Bracht to take out the nett win in the division.

Along with being named club champion, Hergenhan took out the Wayne Ryan Trophy for the lowest new score over the four days (nett 67).

Wendy also won the Bega Blinds and Awnings Veteran’s Best first 36 holes (160) and the best second 36 holes (135).

The daily results for the fourth day of the championships were:

Division one: Wendy Hergenhan (nett 69), division two: Rachel Cuzner (nett 69) and division three: Margaret Atkins (nett 75).

NTPs were Barbara Ubrihien (9th) and Narelle Harrison (18th).

Balls went to W. Hergenhan, R. Cuzner, M. Atkins, D. Roberts, M. Hergenhan, V. Coman, C. Griffin, B. Ubrihien and F. Nicholson.
