WELL, the strong winds have played havoc with the weekend fishing with no reports coming in this week.

I spent my weekend doing boat and trailer mantainence checking and regreasing the bearings checking the battery and so on.

Let’s get on with the fishing report.

To start with, the beaches were very choppy with big seas. Those who were brave enough caught some nice salmon.

Outside fishing was a non event on Saturday, but on Sunday the fishing was looking up with some good flathead on the bite.

I have no report on offshore fishing.

Due to the recent bad weather and the brief report, allow me to offer a little advice on one of the most commonly used knot used in both estuarine and offshore fishing when joining braid line to a fluro-carbon leader line or when attaching your leader to a lure of soft plastic jig head, the Double Uni knot.

Also try the standard Uni knot leaving a loop between your knot and jig which allows your lure to move far more freely through the water.

Till next week

Keep those lines wet
