THE Tathra men’s golf club held their annual DWWW Stableford event on Thursday, June 18 with sufficient numbers leading to three grades of competition.
The round of the day belonged to Russell Rogers with a sub-par round of 70 taking out the A Grade title (41 pts).
Jim Hutson (40 pts) took out top spot in B grade while Vinnie Ford (40 pts) won the C Grade competition with an impressive round of play.
Nearest the pins went to N. Lamont (3rd), Vinnie Ford (9th), Wally Robin (14th) and Brian Gosson (18th).
Balls were won by Kev Argent and Bruce Rodely (40).
The club held a 4BBBB Stableford event on Saturday, June 2, with a solid competition of golf being played.
A reasonable sized field took to the course under windy conditions at Royal Tathra Lakes, with John Gardner and Phil Jackson taking out an impressive victory (47 pts).
John’s steadying influence over the back nine ensured a narrow one-point win over the courageous Luke Tierney and Tyler Rose.
Nearest the pins went to Grahame Martin (3rd), Bruce Rodely (9th), Ray Gill (14th) and Craig Nicholson (18th).
Ray also picked up the golden shot of the day.
Tathra junior golfers recently turned out impressive performances in the Bermagui Junior Classic, and continue to improve on their efforts.
