FIVE former students of Bega High School, three of them brothers, were ordered to leave the school grounds by the principal Jillian Tourlas, after they started arguing with other students within the grounds on Thursday morning.
The incident in the school also involved the smashing of glass bottles and an attempt to entice other male students to fight them.
The hooligans ran off along Peden Street and towards Carp Street.
Police are sending on-the-spot infringement fines of $550 to the Sydney address of the three brothers for trespassing on the school grounds.
Investigations are continuing to identify the two other offenders.
Between 2.05pm and 2.15pm on Wednesday, August 27 a fight broke out between a number of school children in Ayres Walkway, Bega.
The incident was videoed on a phone by one of the students, which has been handed to police.
Police investigations are continuing and once identified appropriate action will be taken.
Between 5.05pm and 5.15pm on Monday, August 25, two male juveniles, one aged 13 and one aged 12, were witnessed stealing an iPod worth $249 from behind the lay-buy counter at Target Country in Bega. The identity of the offenders is known to police.
A 61-year-old Tanja man was stopped by police on Monday, August 25 whilst patrolling the Tathra area.
The man was spoken to and then subjected to a random breath test that proved negative.
A licence check was conducted which found the man was disqualified from driving for three years until February 2010.
He was charged with a disqualified driver offence and is to appear at Bega Local Court on September 23, 2008.
A Bermagui man, while driving south on the Princes Highway from Narooma, was stopped and spoken to by police.
Inquiries revealed his licence was disqualified until January 2009.
This is the second occasion he has been caught driving whilst disqualified. He was detected in June 2008 committing the same offence.
Correction: In Tues-day’s issue it was incorrectly reported that a Tathra man had been banned from the Tathra Hotel, he had in fact been banned from the Tathra Bowling Club.
