Chamber AGM

THE Woolworths development officer, Nigel Smith, will be guest speaker at the annual general meeting of the Bega Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Monday, July 28, at the Bega RSL Club.

Following light refreshments the meeting will start at 6pm.

The election for the 2008-9 committee members will be held after the minutes of the 2007 annual general meeting are read and the financial, president’s and sub-committees reports presented.

Mr Smith will be speaking at 7pm.

Lotto winner

A LOTTERY player who purchased their ticket in Bega is $5000 richer after they picked up the third prize in $2 Jackpot Lottery 9066 last Friday.

The winner is not a member of the NSW Lotteries Players Club so NSW Lotteries officials have no way of contacting the mystery winner.

The winning ticket, number 068054, was purchased at Bega Newsagency in Carp Street.

Newsagency manager Ross Ritchie said it is a definite thrill to sell a major prize winning ticket.

“We have sold a $50,000 Powerball winner and a first prize Jackpot Lottery winner this year, so we are having a lucky run,” Ross added.

“The sale of Jackpot Lottery tickets is very strong because of the big jackpot.”

By becoming a member of NSW Lotteries Players Club (for just $3.30 a year), players ensure that they can be contacted with news of a major win.

The Jackpot in the $2 Jackpot Lottery was not won in a recent draw and now stands at $12.5 million for draw 9067.
