THE NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service acknowledges the co-operation and assistance provided by Tony Rettke of Tathra Surf Life Saving Club in the recent disentanglement of the southern right whale.

Ranger George Malolakis said Mr Rettke was an important member of the rescue team, driving the second rubber duck which helped to disentangle the whale.

“Without his prompt response to our request for assistance the operation would have been much more difficult and problematic for the rescue teams,” Mr Malokais said.
